On December 21, 2024, in partnership with Holman, we visited Bethlehem United Shelter and Cornerstone Shelter, delivering warmth, hope, and practical support to the homeless community. A Day of Giving and Connection With the cold winter months upon us, we knew that basic necessities such as warm clothing and food were more than just items—they were lifelines. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters and partners, we were able to donate: Foodstuffs to ensure no one went hungry this holiday season.• Winter essentials: jackets, boots, gloves, scarves, and warm clothing to help individuals face the freezing temperatures.• Baby clothes: providing care for the youngest members of our community. Why This Matters Homelessness is not just about lacking shelter; it’s about a lack of belonging and resources. Many individuals in shelters feel forgotten, especially during the holidays. By visiting these shelters, we didn’t just drop off donations—we sat, listened, and shared meaningful conversations with those facing life’s toughest challenges. Our time at Bethlehem United Shelter and Cornerstone Shelter reminded us of the resilience and humanity in each person we met. It was humbling to see how a simple gesture of kindness could light up someone’s day. LumiRise Foundation held a heartwarming food donation event at the Fred Victor Bethlehem United Shelter in Toronto on November 30th, 2024, reinforcing its commitment to helping people overcome adversity and empowering them. The shelter, a place for those facing homelessness and personal difficulties, was transformed into a space of warmth and compassion by LumiRise Foundation’s volunteers who tirelessly provided nutritious meals to over 100 individuals in need. The event was a demonstration of the power of community and a reminder that hope is always within reach.
